Here We Go!
As the eleven of us approached the chapel for our first meeting of the year, the anticipation slowly grew. With so much to worry about and so little to be sure of, we boldly took our place under the Team Haiti 2011 poster. From that very first day, this magnificent endeavor has been a pure leap of faith. When the call is heard to go into an unfamiliar place, into another man's world, you cannot help but to be a little apprehensive. Even through this apprehension, and even though Haiti is a place in which some very catastrophic events are occurring, the Lord has already placed an overwhelming peace in our team. We have had some really amazing opportunities in the past couple of weeks to grow as a team. Every single event, from the early-morning weekly prayer meetings to the fundraising adventures, has brought us one step closer to reaching Haiti. As we watch the news and listen to all of the trauma the people of Haiti are experiencing, God is truly starting to lay a burden upon our hearts. With a hurricane and recent eathquake desecrating an already devistated land, there is much that needs to be done. We feel more and more blessed each step we take to have the chance to be apart of what God has planned for these precious people. We know God is not only going to change our own lives on this trip, but the people of Haiti as well. Our request is that you would keep us in your prayers as we prepare for this trip. Pray that we would hear the heart that God has for these people.
